When I was unmarried, I didn't like the restrictions from my parents and I wanted o get married. When I got married and moved to another country with my husband, life was beautiful but I also kept crying as I was missing my parents. Now I am visiting my parents as my father is not well, so now i miss my husband. And it is just unbearable, i really want to go back. I have to stay in my home country and away from my husband for 4 months and I do not think I can stay away form him for so long. He just tells me time will pass soon. I am unhappy in every situation, I am restless. I am not sure what I want. right now i miss my husband badly and I want to die but not stay without him for 4 months. I feel my problem is I dont know how to handle different situations, or I cannot handle changes. My heart feels so heavy, I cry alot. I am unable to do any work. Please help.

Finding the positives in a negative situation is like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes. It can be incredibly difficult to be away from someone you love and miss, and change is always a very stressful experience.

I feel that a good practice to try is finding the positive in every negative. It helped me a lot with my transition out of severe depression, it may help you as well. Pain is a powerfully transformative experience, we can do a lot with the hurt inside of us. You might want to try getting a sheet of paper and writing down aaaaall of the things that hurt you in your day to day life right now. For example, maybe things like "I miss my husband, seeing my father unwell hurts me, I am overwhelmed." Then, for each of these, try to find a positive aspect.

I miss my husband. But I am lucky to love the person I'm with so much that their absence hurts. When we are reunited, my heart will explode with joy.

Seeing my father unwell hurts me. But I am here to support him and he knows this. I am comfort in a time of need.

Looking at these little silver linings in the darkness can really improve situations sometimes. It never hurts to try something that may benefit you.

I noted your username is "depressionvictim" but I thought I'd take a second to address that yes, you are a victim of depression. You're being fed on by a horrible disease, and it is exhausting and makes you feel out of control and powerless. But more importantly, you are a depression survivor. You will get through this, and you will come out on top.
