When did you decide to reach out?

I've thought for quite a while that my problems are invalid - especially after trying to speak to a counsellor and doctor two years ago which wasn't helpful. When did you decide to reach out for help from family, friends or a professional? And how did you approach the situation?

Last Dezember (so in 2017). I was in such a bad spot I had to open up. My family doesn't fully understand it, however they helped me reach to my doctor, who sent me to a therapist. I've been in therapy since January of 2018.

How I aproached... honestly I just told the truth. That I wasn't ok, that I needed help.

However I'll be honest, in my case I was really lucky. Usually families tend to not accept things well. So try to have more support, not just your family, in case they don't accept it.

With mental health support is crucial.

Also just because before it went badly, doesn't mean it will go again. Mental health is like an actual health problem. Sometimes you have to visit many doctors to find a good fix for it. Same applies here.

Just don't give up! asking for help is so important. You should be proud you're considering it heart
