The worst part about "Depression" is that those who don't have it, They just don't get it.

@Nawaz00

We should make a list. 'Things not to say to a depressed person':

" you're so young, you've got your whole life ahead of you" ...

"Stay strong"... 😬

I agree they don't get it, they never will unless they go through it themselves

@ambitiousApple9528 ugh yes. and "dont be sad" "other people have it worse than you". I know there are people who might be in even worse and sadder plights than me, but I didn't choose to be depressed. And it's not like it fades away after a night's sleep or with a snap of your fingers.

Yes and what's ewen worse than that? The people that don't have it judge us for being depressed.

I also wrote a short discussion about the Myths on Depression on a forum if you'd like to check that out.

I agree with this & that's why the most important thing is to raise awareness about mental health , so everyone can at least understand when their friends / family or even people around them are struggling with any mental illnesses.

@Alia2 I absolutely agree. I live in a country where mental illness is frowned upon and is the butt of jokes. And it is incredibly harming because those with mental illness often go without the helo that they need and feel bad for having a mental illness (which isn't their fault at all).
