Are you ready for this weeks challenge Okay we challenged our brains now lets move on to our muscles. Lets get moving! Its pretty common for exercise to be listed in the top ways to practice good self care. Its physically good for us. It gets our body moving and can wake up those feel good endorphins. A gym is an obvious choice to get exercise but what else can we do? Play a sport? Go for a walk? Do some housework? How can you get moving this week? Share with us. (The always needed disclaimer- if you have any physical reason that you cant exercise please refrain or discuss with your doctor any new exercise you are trying out.)

So the challenge this week: Try to move 20 mins per day (or as many days as you can) Are you up for the challenge?

Great challenge ! 💪.

When i feel stressed or depressed , I just go for a walk "just walking alone without thinking or doing anything " which is really great idea to relax.

@AnnaKateMillerLCSW

still doing the last one :) .... i like this one too it will be a real challenge for me cause i struggle big time in the physical area, but there are times go shopping at stores and get a lot of upper body workout from just wheeling my wheelchair around that helps me be able to shop but also save energy for other things and at the same time get upper body exercise, try to take my lil guy bowling as much as i can while there is kids bowl free during the summer, and walking during the day back n forth on my school bus for work is all great exercise for me, I struggle with bi-lateral drop foot and chronic pain that complicates things a lil.

@Autismaunt14 I can imagine that it does get challenging! And what a great attitude that you'll try even more bc I know being in a wheelchair or having problems walking can be a physical workout itself! We love kids bowl free too and it's a fun way to get family involved in the exercises. Thanks for taking all the challenges! I'm doing them with y'all and love knowing we're all working on them!

Yeah i have been going over various methods for keepin in shape ,the problem is i am naturally lazy.i am so lazy that whenever a trainer says to me "are you ready to put in the work? let's get warmed up!" , i cringe. there are better ways of doing exercise that are so much fun u barely even notice. a night out dancing, browsing the stores, jogging with a friend, and even organising closet (i never figure out what to wear so ,by the end of the week it looks i was robbed, but the thief changed his mind and threw everything back ). also got one of those indoor bikes, you not only can count burned calories, but you can enjoy biking while doing something else. The real challenge with exercise is not movement itself, just the fact that doing it alone can feel like more work than it actually is, so, of possible , get a friend to keep u company:)

@Ylina great ideas! And you're right that some people get more motivated with a partner. It's also solitude for some people. And doing the indoor bike while watching tv keeps you entertained. I'm glad you see the importance of moving!

I'm finding mixing up activities throughout the week seems to keep me more entertained(less bored) and wanting to actually go and do stuff. Body combat, yoga, hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, trail running all come into play.

Sometimes when I really need to clear my mind, I'll hike through the woods, barefoot. Nothing keeps you focused on each step, than little bits of leaves, sticks and pebbles poking the bottom of your feet, keeping your mind on one thing, and that's each step.

@maibock What a great way to exercise and keep connected to nature and earth. And it sounds like mixing it up is a good way for you to keep it up. For some people the same routine all the time is fine but for alot trying new things is a great way to keep you going. Thanks for taking the challenge. There will be another tomorrow!
