Hello. Im a parent with a son who is clinically depressed and needs help. He has been hospitalized twice for attempted suicide, received some help, but refused to continue his therapy and medication. I'm reaching out because I don't know what else to do. He has since threatened to take his life a few times after being hospitalized, at which point I contacted authorities, only to be told that he seemed fine upon arrival and/or he's an adult and if he doesn't want the help, there's nothing they could do. How can this be? I'm reaching out to see if anyone can guide me to the right person or place that can help him. He is very stubborn and unless forced, he may not go willingly. He's a good person, very smart and articulates himself well. He's 20 years old and cannot seem to get his life in order with this depression so deep within. He wants out. I have left it to the hands of God but that has only stopped him from making his life threats to me. But I know he still feels it, and therefore, I am afraid everyday, that this will be the day. They say "It takes a village...", so that is why I am reaching out to you. He is not a child, but he is my child and I can't see him suffering like this anymore.
