Thoughts on nurturing platonic physical intimacy

Hey all,

I huge part of my depression has been loneliness, and I feel like something that's uncomfortable for me to talk about: the lack of physical touch, especially the kind of touch that makes me feel close and cared for. I am actively seeking a romantic relationship (or polyamorous relationships), but I am also trying to create platonic intimacy, even though I find it very vulnerable to ask for.

I'm currently using dating sites to seek out platonic cuddle buddies. I also have some friends who are also women/femmes that I feel comfortable inviting over to do things like paint each others' nails, give massages, hair-braid, etc.

Let me know your thoughts or other ideas you have.

@Daydreamer47

You might want to consider reading the book 5 love languages. You can also look up on the web pleasant activities list and see if there are things that you can do that are fun and meet new people.

@DanaMH Thanks. I already know what I need. It's just the issue of not being able find people who are reliable.
