Depressed and can't tell my parents.
I think I have bipolar depression disorder, if not it's definitely some kind of depression. My classmate whos kind of my friend was the only one to notice or point out tHat he thinks I have depression. I told my mom this to see her reaction, she said that I'm just like her. That I have negative emotions and anger issues but am not depressed. I always tell her I have headaches and it's ALWAYS true. She said: "Why do you have headaches? You're not even stressed." Like it was a joke. She tells me I'm like her, she gets headaches when she's stressed, but then she blames my headaches on my phone use. I spend HOURS stressing each day, and she doesn't even realize. I held back tears eating dinner with her before, and she didn't even notice. My dad isn't any Better. If I hurt my ankle, he's like: "Why did you get hurt?! Be more careful next time!" He doesn't care about me AT ALL. He just doesn't want me to get hurt or sick because he doesn't want to bring me to the hospital or pay. All my life he didn't care, just went to work and got annoyed when he needed to drive me home or help me with anything. He's not even my father anymore at this point. I cant open up to any of them, so idk what to do.
@Pandamilktea
I'm in a very similar situation, except I haven

I'm trying to look into people I can trust, it's just hard to trust them. I tried a school counselor but they weren't helpful at all.
@Pandamilktea
Yeah, its really hard when you dont have good support and you struggle with trust. My brother used to be so mean to me that it hurt my ability to trust, so now that Im dealing with depression and anxiety I dont want to tell my parents because if my trust is broken one more time I probably wont be able to cope anymore.
My parents love me, but even in everyday things they just dont really support me or understand, so that makes me not want to open up to them.
Keep trying to trust and maybe someday youll find someone who can give you the love and support you deserve.
I'm new and I need to vent a little. I don't know if I'm depressed but I think I am. I constantly have feelings of guilt and that I'm worthless almost every day, there are tiny voices in my head saying I'm just a drama queen and I just want attention but i can't shake the feeling I'm worthless. I feel so tired at some points then I either sleep the day away or don't sleep at all. I do self-harm in a way, but I do it in a way that no one can notice, I take pins or thumbtacks and poke my self, scratch,slap, and other things that don't leave scars because I'm ashamed of how I act and feel. I don't want to tell my parents or family because I'm scared they'll laugh or make fun of me or push it away like I'm a fly, I'm scared they'll be angry or think they caused it and then they will be sad too. I hide in a mask and do it silently, I cry silently, I hurt myself silently, I try my hardest to muster up the courage to ask for help but my head fills with these thoughts of helplessness. I feel worthless, like no one loves me or needs me, and I feel hopless. I want to know what anyone thinks of this and I need opinions on what to do and how.
@placidBike7224 You find yourself isolated and lacking an idea of how to go forward with yourself. This is common among many young people who find their only option is to self harm and hide away their true emotions to those around them. If you cannot find yourself able to open up to family or friends, then conversations on platforms like 7 Cup are the perfect first steps to building up your support base. Being able to express yourself to someone you know or even a stranger will allow you to take some of the weight off your shoulders and is the way to unburden yourself.
@ConscientiousHarry I have already talked with multiple people on this app, and it has helped a lot, I've been looking for a platform like this for a while and I'm glad I found it
@placidBike7224 I'm really happy to hear that.
I'm still relatively new to the site myself, but it's been a real eye-opener just how many people share problems similar to what others face. I'm open to talk to you personally if you want to :)
@ConscientiousHarry I'm fine, thank you

It is normal for teens to seek attention. Ypur problems are not psychological but hormonal, the majority of teen go through difficult times, just most of them don't talk about it. [Edited by Erato to remove unsupportive and invalidating comment, 6/16/19] I am sorry you go through these teen tough times (TTT😉), i did too and lots of others did, I'm just sad that you don't have a true friend or that you are not my daughter...
@Ragnarokk Having constant stress induced headaches isn't normal.
