Is my depression real?
My parents don't believe that someone my age can experience such complex emotions. After many years of being dismissed or ignored, my mind has begun playing tricks on me. Am I truley feeling what I feel? Is my mind just acting it all out? Adulthood has come abruptly, and living alone has only made things worse. I find that having loud arguments with myself in bed are only becoming more frequent. I try to convince myself that my problem really exists, but on the other hand maybe it doesn't. I can't tell which thoughts are mine anymore, and it scares me. I've been looking into getting help, and this is my first step. Thank you for reading.
i feel the same. i never told my parents and i’m only 15 but sometimes i don’t know who i am. it’s like one moment i have this problem but i tell myself no you don’t and i don’t know what’s real or not. if i’m just over reacting and it’s no big deal. i don’t know hot to handle it but it always feels like i invalidate my own feelings and problems to the point that i can’t tell whats real or what i have made up in my head and it frustrates me
Hey, thanks for sharing. I want you to know that you are not alone in this, and that you are heard. Adulthood is pretty difficult, especially living alone. Making friends as an adult is so hard because everybody just goes to work and then comes home. Unfortunately, a lot of people feel this way. I'm glad that you came here to vent out your frustrations. That is a great first step. We do have therapy in 7 cups that you could always consider. There is always hope, friend.
