Messy rooms
My room is disgusting.it smells, you can't see the floors, and the parts you can see are stained with who knows what. I wish I didn't let myself live like this. Every time I try to clean I get overwhelmed and can't go on without being on the brink of a panic attack every second. I'm too embarrassed to ask for help cause I'm 16, I should know how to take care of myself. But I struggle so much. This is stupid I thought this would make me feel better. Anyways have a great day!
@scarletrivets I completely understand that when we're in a depressive episode or justr really mentally struggling with something, some of our daily tasks can be a really difficult challenge. Depression affects everyone in different ways, and losing motivation is a big symptom of depression that I'm sure many of us in this community are struggling with as well. You are not alone!
I feel you on an insane level I’m 17 and my room is atrocious at times, it takes ALL of my energy to clean it then it gets dirty in less than a week it’s a constant cycle, I have 5 dogs and my mother works 16 hour shifts I have a brother and my father is absent the house is constantly dirty which we clean on a basis jus for it to get dirty again the dogs don’t get let out too often so you could only imagine what that adds to the picture, anyways I wanted to let you know that for me at least starting with your room can make you feel a lot better I know you said it’s overwhelming at times and believe me I get it, but you just have to realize it’s something you have to do in order to feel better we both know you could do it if you wanted too I’m in the same boat homie I believe in you and I want you to feel better start by trying to clean your room and keep it clean for as long as possible I know that sounds hard and you’ve probably tried before but if you really try and I mean really try and commit you’ll see subtle positive changes!
