feeling stuck

December 5th, 2021

how can i get better when the only person who can help myself is me? i cant. i dont care about myself enough and i keep sabotaging myself. not eating, drinking, or sleeping enough. not doing my homework. telling myself i'm stupid, worthless, a waste. im the only thing keeping myself back. idk what to do anymore. im stuck here until i decide to get better i guess

i guess its petty. im just complaining, its not like anyone else can help.

@blueberrywaffles often we think many negative thoughts about ourselves or our lives, because our brain naturally looks for danger or judgements. That’s perfectly normal.

However if you were in court, talking to a judge, they would dismiss anything that was an opinion - and only look at the facts. Facts don’t have feelings attached to them.

Like it’s a fact that you have posted here, but it’s a thought that only you are capable of helping yourself.

When it comes to thoughts - give some equal air time to other possibilities. I find this helps me, so maybe it will help you too!

What if you *are* capable of helping yourself? What if you find someone who *is* very helpful for you in life? What if tomorrow you have a really good day?

Every time your brain has a negative thought, give yourself equal time having thoughts for the other side of the argument. You don’t have to think something unbelievably positive, just things that are equally possible.

And they are just thoughts after all.
Whatever your life facts are - I’m glad you’re here for support! Reaching out is a great step to helping yourself, so to me that’s evidence that you’re capable for sure x

Are you seeing a therapist. It takes more than you just telling yourself to do better. Are you on any meds? You need a support system too. Good luck.
