i don’t feel depressed

whenever i hear about depression it’s always the not being able to get out of bed and faking a smile and suicidal kind of depression, and i’ve never thought that i fit into that category (even when i have) and never thought i was depressed

a lot of the symptoms i think i put down to burnout and anxiety, but i spoke to my therapist earlier and she flagged up depression as a big issue and like? she made some valid points

the problem is i’m doing all these things voluntarily. i’m withdrawing because it’s easier and less stressful to be alone, i’m not doing hobbies because i’m procrastinating, i’m not sleeping because i don’t want to, the list goes on

i can’t tell if i’m lying to myself or genuinely not depressed or both or neither and i don’t know what’s going on i just know that somethings really wrong with me but i don’t even know how i would begin to fix it

@fangbot23 Sending hugs. 🤍🌻

Sometimes only we know how we feel but it's okay to be confused about your emotions.

If you're not taking care of yourself well then there's definitely a cause behind it. As you said, currently it's hard for you to understand it.

Try to make a routine and taking care of yourself as a first step. It happens at times when we want to rely on ourselves and it's totally alright. Even if we listen to others, we somehow have certain answers in our head. They may or may not be true but you still know what you're going through.

You can also try journaling. It might help you to keep track of the pattern of your symptoms and taking steps towards them. You're already brave enough because you tried to get the help you deserve. Hope you find the peace you deserve. 🌈🌱
