Hello all,

I am new here to this community. I wondered if any of you have good stories about either DBT or lexapro. I will be starting both and am terrified of both. I am 20 and a junior in college and should have gotten help years ago. I've struggled with depression since 8th grade when I started harming myself. 10th grade I attempted on my life a couple of times and failed. I havent self harmed in over 2 years now but I just got out of an abusive relationship.

I struggle with PTSD, Reactive Attachment disorder, depression and anxiety so if you have any advice for me on those, especially reactive attachment disorder, I would be grateful for that too.

Thanks!

@Blackrosesinrain

I started out with DBT with my new therapist and got some interesting information from it. The problem with it was that it's mostly in a group setting and the only facility near me that had the groups was not taking new patients.

I was on Lexapro for awhile and it didn't do much for me but every brain and body is different and I need to be on a different classification of anti-depressant than what Lexapro is. Try it out and listen to your body and brain carefully. If you find you get any really nasty side effects from it then don't be afraid to speak with your doctor ASAP.
