Defeated. But hopeful?
Hi, I’m Maggie. I’m 29. Ugh. I was diagnosed with postpartum depression a couple months ago. But, to be honest, Im pretty sure I’ve had depression for years. I just never had the courage to talk to someone until I became responsible for another human’s life. I love my son. I need to be strong for him. But I feel constantly crushed by my own racing thoughts. I’ve lost passion for all of the things I’ve loved to do. I just don’t understand what my purpose is anymore except to be a good mom. And I don’t feel like I’m even good at that most of the time. I’m not really sure where to go from here… but that is for reading if you’ve made it this far. <3
Hi Maggie, I’m glad you’re here. Depression is a very complicated thing. It makes you tired, not wanting to do things you loved to do before, and it makes you guess yourself. But I’m happy you’re reaching out, it’s one of the toughest steps. Being a mom is also a tough role, but you’re trying your best. And that’s what makes you a good mom. Please know you are not alone. ❤️
