Depression and Personal Hygiene
Hi...so, I feel like a terrible person for having this problem, and I have to admit, I don’t know why I’m talking about it. I’ve always struggled with up-keeping some basic human things, like showering...I have always had depression and anxiety. I try to shower once every three days. But sometimes I wait longer. I don’t know why I’m putting this here. This is really hard for me to talk about. More than I thought it would be. It’s not like I don’t freshen up every day abs wash my face and shave...I just hate that long process of washing my hair etc, and with my depression, I can’t seem to get myself to do it. I’d rather relax and sleep. Anyone have this problem? What do you do to fight it? I know some people will be disgusted by this...in the end, I have a sickness (depression), and I am still learning how to deal with it.
hey! first off it’s brave and strong of u to talk about this. secondly i don’t suffer from this level of depression myself but i might have a few tips for you. you could make a daily to do list and just be determined to complete it that could include bathing and eating and drinking water etc. you could join a gym and start working out and get a hobby perhaps. or you could pursue some sport as that’d give you energy and you’d be able to get out of bed and have the energy to shower.
