Hi all I'm new on here and thought I'd say hi. I'm a 40ish woman, been going through some tough times in the past 4 or so years. I have 4 beautiful grown children, I live approx 4hrs from them due to me moving for employment. Had a marriage breakdown, went into an abusive relationship (emotional and psychological) been through court so it's been a roller coaster ride for 4 years. Still seem to always go back into this situation with said person feel guilty if I leave for good (I know I shouldn't). Family and friends don't know I've still been seeing him. Anyway my depression has been getting worse and have no one to really talk about it with, find some days a struggle to even leave the house to go to work, I tend to just stick to home dont go anywhere when not working. Anyway be good to be able to chat with people.

I’m in my fifties. Mostly grown children. I’m not sure I’m all that grown myself some days. I’m new to this site. Don’t have my feet under me yet, which is exactly how I feel about my life. I swear it all used to make sense. But I am taking a break from my husband right now. I’m depressed. He’s easily angered. My kids don’t want to get involved or have to support us emotionally- they just want normal parents. So I feel very abandoned. Very alone. I’m literally in the house I grew up in now doing chores for my elderly parents. I think we may have some bits in common. The kids at their stage. The relationships that don’t seem to fit. I want mine to work but I’m not some magician. Me, depressed, this is not who I was at 20 or 30. I know I need to examine this. Be rational. Not just emotional.

Isn't it stage how we can be attracted to the very people that are wrong for us. I sometimes feel I'm my own worst enemy.
