Hello
Hello everyone, My name is Missy and I have suffered from chronic depression my entire life. I was first formally diagnosed when I was 12 or 13. It’s caused by my social emotional disability that was caused by a TBI and stroke when I was three years old. I also suffer from ptsd, panic attacks, and anxiety from a pretty major work injury that left me disabled at the age of 23. I still suffer severe chronic pain and do my very very best to get through without pain meds and treatment because of the stigma of chronic pain patients and addiction. I was physically dependent at the beginning of my injury but worked hard to get off them and do what I can to keep pain under control with other methods. I was also in a mentally abusive relationship a little over a year ago and get triggers from that now that cause flairups in my mental health. While I was in the relationship I was on several different depression medications just to keep from unaliving myself but through therapy and help from my family and other members of a support team I was able to get out and to also get off the medicine. I still suffer from the depression but it is not nearly as bad as when I was with my abuser and I can get through the rough parts by talking them out and keeping true to myself and boundaries I creat. Thanks for letting me share a small bit about me. Missy.
