Hello :) My name is Dawn, 25 years old. I have been dealing with depression since 2016, and only got diagnised around 2019. I started medications but then stopped because I can't afford it anymore. Now I'm just trying to live while I'm alive. I'm better now but I still need to go back to medication. Hello to everyone. It's nice being here. :)

Hi Dawn!

How sad you can't afford the medication!

I hope things get better soon and you can afford what you need to feel well.

I wish to add that antidepressants vary wildly in their price, according to their novelty, if they are made only by one pharmaceutical company or by many, if they have lost intellectual property rights and thus became generic drugs, etc.

So you can research a bit with your psychiatrist, looking for a drug that is not only effective, but cheaper, and so more affordable to you.

All doctors tend to prescribe what they think is "the best" drug regardless of price. But what good does it make if one can't afford it?

Anyway, glad to meet you!

Stay in touch!

Marcelo.
