Hi everyone.
Hi...I'm Remo. I'm 30, female, from the US. I'm here because I'm too depressed to do anything anymore. I don't have a job, hobbies, or interests. I don't leave the apartment I share with my partner unless someone forcibly makes me. I have suicidal thoughts nearly every day. I've been medicated and in therapy for the past thirteen years and steadily getting worse, and struggling with an on-and-off cocaine addiction for the last ten. I stopped going to therapy last year when I decided I would rather use the money for drugs, and now I'm too depressed to make the effort to go back. I'm incredibly lazy and resistant to doing anything to help myself. I grew up in an abusive home and have a ton of issues related to that. My brother killed himself last year and I'm definitely not over it. I can't cope with the fact that life is empty and meaningless and that there probably isn't any kind of divinity or afterlife. I genuinely think that I am a terrible person and don't deserve to get better. But some tiny part of my brain that still remembers what it was like to be happy wants me to try yet again to get help, so here I am.
I/m sorry to hear about your brother. Thoughts of suicide seem to haunt a lot of us here on this site. Hopefully we can support each other. Were you close? Was he a source of support for you?
Drugs do make you feel good in the short term, but you will always feel worse in the long run. I'm no one to preach as I believe a drug or two has saved my life and sanity at certain times.

Hi, nice to meet you, and thank you for your kind response. I posted in a fit of despair and was anxious about the kind of replies I would get.
My brother and I had a tumultuous relationship...when I was 17 and self-harming he pulled a gun on me and told me that if I wanted to die he'd be happy to oblige. When I was 25 he bought me a 16,000 dollar car. The morning before he died I refused to give him 20 dollars because I was angry at him and I'll always wonder how things would have been different had I just given it to him.
I want to stay off the drugs for my partner, but I always go back. He doesn't even know 3/4 of the times that I've used since we've been together. Idk what it would do to our relationship if he found out.
