Hey everyone! I'm new here.. I have been struggling with depression as long as I can remember. I am a childhood abuse and rape survivor. I've been doing my best to cope alone until recently, when my husband and I had our first born son. I need to get better for him, and for my amazing husband. Neither of them deserve to be affected by my issues. I want to heal from the past to build a better future and I recognize that I can no longer do so on my own. So here I am. :)

Hi. I've struggled with depression since I was in middle school. It comes in waves. Usually I start to sink down into the depression and don't notice how deep I've gotten until I'm up to my eye balls. Yesterday I realized that has happened... not surprising given everything that's been going on.

@LexIris

Hello,

I immensely appreciate the creation of this space for Depression Support. I wish I had found this earlier. I'm new here and my name is Elizabeth. I've had severe clinical depression as a young child (during my formative years, no less) and depression seems to be rearing its ugly head again. This is the first time in a really long while I've actually reached out to others outside my Mom for support because I am very private, but I've already been on 7Cups long enough to figure out how helpful it is here. I hope to find support here and possibly even friends that understand, but I'm happy to support and encourage anyone out there suffering from depression--I of all people would know how terrible it can be to suffer alone, so I don't want anyone else to feel like that. Good luck to everyone, especially during COVID.
