Hi. Ive been dealing with depression for about a year and a half now and have gone through a very hard time. My family doesnt understand and isnt the best support as all they want to do is put me on meds when I didnt need them. My friends make better supports but I feel like Im losing them slowly and will one day be all alone. I feel like Im a burden on people.

That sounds very rough to have to go through! Despite your rough challenges, I'm very proud of you for persevering and not giving up - you're honestly so, so courageous and brave. Have you seen your doctor about your depression? It's important to do so before starting a new medicine or therapy. I hope everything works out for you!

@Emily619

thank you. I havent seen one yet. Ive been arguing with my mom on getting meds through a psychiatrist as shes making it a demand rather than my choice. most of the time its manageable but Im currently debating whether or not to go on antidepressants. I dont know as it might help as each brand works differently but I dont know if I need it either. Im really not sure what to do :(

@Sadbobcat

You're welcome, anytime! In regards to medication, it's best to talk about your concerns with your psychiatrist that you will see. Afterall, they're getting paid to help councel you about your medicines. I hope everything works out smoothly and easily with your medicine situation, and if one medicine isn't working too well or the side-effects are too extreme, don't hesitate to reach out to the psychiatrist so you can either have a lower dose or a different medication. Just remember to follow their instructions as they know best, and good luck!
