How do you start your recovery?

I've been struggling with my ed for about a year and a half now. I'm aware what I'm doing is dangerous and unstainable, but I can't keep the motivation to work on it. I always find a reason to go back to my habits. I haven't gotten professional help or a diagnosis. I'm do not feel I'm in immediate danger, but one or two more stress events might get me there. I wish I had never began living this way, I can't imagine life without my ed. How did you start your recovery? What can I do while I'm thinking somewhat clearly to help myself?

@c3ll4rsp1der if I were you, I would get myself a good therapist. I want to get me one, when I'm ready to recover.

Hello.

Firstly, I congratulate you for being so brave! I'm glad you are thinking about your health.

Well, it may be good to have some support around you who can keep pushing you, because recovery can be a long journey. A therapist, a friend, a family member, anyone who can help you get past this.

Since anorexia deals mainly with undereating and over-exercising, you could perhaps consider starting from increasing the former and decreasing the latter. Try to increase your intake, include foods that are healthy and high in calories. At the same time, try to decrease your physical activity by doing activities that require sitting, for example, solving puzzles, or painting.

It can be difficult, I understand. But please, remember, you are strong and you can do this!

Well wishes!

Try the app recovery record. It's not for everyone but I found it to be helpful.
