Lack of control over my eating

I am feeling a lack of control over my eating. I often restrict eating during the day, which often leads to eating a large amount of food in a short time, and then I try to get rid of the extra calories in an unhealthy way. Because of guilt, shame and an intense fear of weight gain from overeating, I am forced to vomiting, exercise too much, or use other methods, such as laxatives, to get rid of the calories. Is this any kind of eating disorder? One of my friends asked me to take eating disorder treatment from any nearby clinic like the Canada Drug rehab centre nearby( https://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/Eating-Disorder-Treatment.html ). Is it true that this eating disorder may be more common with people who have intellectual disability? I do face limitations in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior. I am really worried.

@bubbleBanana4281 From the way you described your eating habits (and the way you emotionally feel about food) and that you purge, I would definitely suggest seeking help through your doctor or a clinic. I'm no medical professional, no am I qualified to give you a diagnosis but it does sound like you do suffer from an eating disorder.

I really hope you feel better soon and are able to get the treatment and help you need. Good luck heart
