Medication making me relapse?

March 4th, 2016

So I dealt with Anorexia Nervosa for a few years and as of about a year now I've been recovered. But recently I was put on a medication called Adderall that is causing my appetite to go way down. I've lost 7 pounds in the past week and a half and for some reason it's really triggering me back into the mindset that the more weight I lose the better, and thus I went from eating a healthy three meals a day to hardly eating cereal in the morning. The thing is I'm hardly even tryinfg not to eat now. I just don't even think about it. I feel very weak though and whenever I try to eat I get that weird wattery thing in the back of your throat like you're going to hurl. Eating feels like a chore now and I feel my eating disorder slowly creeping back in.

@TaintedVeins Maybe explain the situation to a parent or doctor? That's odd

@TaintedVeins Why the hell would they put u on Adderall for anorexia? That is for kids w/ADHD or Autism! It's like Ritalin .. an amphetamine. That stuff will of course make you not eat!

@TransAm85

I do have ADHD and when I was in a pyschiatric hospital they wouldn't prescribe it to me because of my eating disorder. But I've been recovered for almost a year now but this med is making me fall back into it.

There are medications that affect eating disorders. My girlfriend had bulimia and just found out that the med her doc put her on can cause flare-ups of eating disorder problems. It's toally possible that it's your med.
