do i even qualify ?
hi im kinda new to the whole "disordered eating" scene. after a bad breakup and loss of a friend group about a year and a half ago, ive been hyperfixated on my weight and body. of course i was self conscious and unhappy with my appearance before but this time i actually started to lose weight. im not underweight, i fall into the "healthy bmi" range, but i feel like i restrict what i eat too much for it to be normal. i follow the ketogenic diet loosely and will occasionally break from it and binge excessively on food i couldnt have before. ive lost over 1/4 of my total body weight since then. i try to only eat a full meal once a day, and limit myself to one or two snacks. i know OMAD is a genuine diet, but it just sounds a lot like disordered eating to me. is this an actual problem i should be concerned about? im still a "healthy weight", just obsessed with what i eat, and trying to lose more weight. sorry this is so long, i've got a lot to say. feel free to share similar experiences or advice.
Hello, Sorry to hear that. I know how hard it is to loss weight. Are you determined to have a certain body image? Do you think you may be depress and having a hard time dealing with pass? I think you made a choice talking about it.
you dont need to be underweight to have an eating disorder. your struggles are valid no matter what. try to find the root of why you starve, maybe self esteem issues, punishment, etc. recognizing the reasons why i restricted helped me to understand why i wanted to hurt myself and i worked from there. hope this helps!
