how to stop the ed voice

i’ve started recovery by myself because i want to return to a normal life. i know i’m underweight and have to gain to get my period back and be healthy so i stopped compulsive exercise and counting calories. i’ve been eating more, 3 meals a day and adding snacks to try to honor my hunger. i’ve tried all my fear foods at least once and let someone else prepare my dinner for me. i know logically that i’m going to need more calories to repair all the damage i’ve done to my body, but my ed voice has been so strong and the feeling of hunger terrifies me. i’ve managed to fight back so far and eat when i’m hungry but i feel like i’m just getting more and more hungry each day and it’s all i can think about. when does this get easier?

@rationalMaple3858 I am so proud of you for taking this step and going all-in recovery!

Extreme hunger is very common when the recovery starts and the ED voice is very unhappy about it for sure. Listening to that hunger and fueling your body is one step towards recovery and each time you do that, you are taking a win and ED is losing. I wish there was an easy answer to when does it get easier, but it really depends on a lot of things and each individual case is different. We are always here to support you through it. Cheering on for you!
