Emotional binge eating
I often find myself overeating whenever I feel stressed, get overwhelmed, annoyed, sad, etc. My problems started when I decided I wanted to lose weight but I guess I didn’t do it the right way since it’s led to this. I hate not being able to control myself. Any tips?
Sorry not being able to share any tips but just want to let you know you're not alone. I recently also overeating because of stress and has gained 17 lbs.

Hi Michaela

Hey there. Thank you for sharing! You could consider trying some breathing exercises, or going out for a walk when feeling anxious, and removing food from sight. Any activity that releases your stress could be helpful :)
You should find if there are certain triggers that make you stressed or wanna binge eat and try to remove them if you can. You should also try to find activities to replace binge eating, like walking, writing, drawing, reading, etc. you’re not alone and just make sure you’re not starving yourself, you deserve to be healthy! You got this!
Big time stress eater here🙋♀️ I have a very stressful and demanding job. I am always in a emotional rollercoaster with my family. I reach out for food every time I am stressed. I wish I had some 24x7 monitor on me which helped with this behaviour and kept me calm.
Same! I used to have bulimia then restricting and now binge eating. It's hard with stress and wanting to lose weight, so I feel the struggle. You're not alone.
I've been working through similar stuff. I've had a little bit of success with the HALT method. I put a little sign on our pantry that says HALT with each spelt out as a question - Are you Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired so I can check in with myself on why I'm turning to food. It doesn't always work but even a few wins feels good.
