How do I stop nightly binging?

This last month I have binged on candy every night. I can't fall asleep, before I have at least three different kinds of candy in my mouth, and often I will eat more bc I get desperat to fall asleep. And I can't sleep without it. I know I will eventually fall asleep, but I get almost paniced about not falling asleep.

In generel I have a hard time falling asleep, and still have, even though I binge nightly.

How the heck do I stop?

@EvilRegalsReadToo I do something similar. Last night I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep until I ate some crackers. Most nights I can't sleep unless I exercise, but even then sometimes I need to eat something before I sleep.

I think it's a learned behavior. So, just how I have learned that eating crackers will help me go to sleep, I have to unlearn it and use something else, healthy. It's a difficult thing to do, because most of the time the reason we learn something is because we enjoy it. It would be better, for both of us, if either we didn't eat anything at all to help us sleep, or ate something healthy.

You will be able to change this beahvior, if you really want to, just like I will. Just right now, I am not sure I want to. indecision

@sincereOcean4592 Maybe I could start just eating something healthy before sleeping? Not candy?

@EvilRegalsReadToo Any healthy change is good. I also need to do that as well, but I am not sure what is healthy and easy at the same time. I think the ease of crackers, for me, and candy, for you, is part of why we eat that instead of something healthy.

So, finding something that is healthy and easy would be best...for both of us LOL

@EvilRegalsReadToo just brush your teeth after dinner and you are less likely to binge afterwards
