I can
Ive been fighting so long with my binge eating. I dont know how to stop. Its a mental game and I keep losing.
@NicoleIsHere7 I would try and find a therapist. It helps most people, bc there are a reason to why you eat like you do. Is food a comfort to you?
@EvilRegalsReadToo its really not. I feel guilt about eating.
I never found therapists to help as much as a registered dietician (woman). They seem to understand my challenges and barriers and provide concrete strategies to address them. It's real-world stuff. Because I'm old enough now that the disorder is more habitual than an actual self-soothing or distracting behavior, making external changes seems to help change the habits. When I get especially triggered, discipline often flies out the window, but it's been a good week for me this week as I'm working with DBT skills to address overeating, and tracking my food behaviors.
It has also helped me to be accountable to someone else, but, alas, I am not in a place where I can get professional help right now. Best to you!
