My eating is going downhill. I honestly dont even know where to start but I dont know how to stop these cravings and the gradual weight gain is disturbing me and im about to be at an overweight bmi.

I have these random cravings when im not hungry and I try and use my will power to wait till I am actually hungry but fail every time. whenever I eat I try to potion things but end up binging and ive tried so many times. at this point im not sure anymore

@thxlma17 Don't use your willpower to wait for eating, but drink water instead. Lots of it! And do something to distract yourself. Working out works for me :)

I don't think it's so much willpower as it is self examination. Where does willpower come from? Do we have any control over it? For me, no. I am either blessed with willpower one day, or cursed by its absence another. Nothing I do seems to matter to it. I'm always ready to eat. However, If I look at my reasons for eating, and see what has caused the patterns/habits I've developed, then I seem to get somewhere. It's so internal for me, and the external - the actual consumption of food -- grows out of that. Sure, I can work on developing some good eating habits: for me that's 1. no snacking in front of the TV and 2. Keeping a diary of what I eat. But working on those habits doesn't address the underlying issues that were going on when I developed the BED. So I'm in self-exploration mode and for now, that's enough! I am really in a good place, and there is a subtle anxiety that it won't last. I'll just keep on keeping on...
