Everything you just said struck me right in the chest. I feel exactly the same way. I can go aproximatley 2 days before I overeat again. It's exhausting and time wasting. All I want is to be a kid with normal eating habits and hunger cues. Just today, I came home from my althletics practice and relapsed. I'm happy to say, however, that today wasn't as bad as previous times; I've set myself a goal to eat as little added sugar as possible. For me, this goal is strict enough that I feel like I get benefit from it but easy enough that I can still live my life without obsessing over it. Today, it kept me from reaching to the cake-pops and icecream because I wanted to feel like I had stuck to my goal by the end of the day.
I know you want in-the-moment tricks. If I had some, I wouldn't be where I am right now! My best advice is to forgive yourself the night of, and strategize for the next day, because cravings will probably come back again. If you relapse the next day, it's ok. Just try something new (more water and snacks, distract yourself, get rid the binge-prone foods in your cabinets, walk the dog, etc). I'm working on it right alongside you.
