@husbandoeridan
Hey eridan, nice to see you around in the forums! If you haven't already done a ton of research I would definitely do more on this, but from what you described it seems like you fit what I know about binge eating disorder. (Of course I'm not any type of expert, so what I think means nothing, but you could possibly have it) And even though you don't have a diagnosis right now, that's absolutely okay. You can still have a condition without being properly diagnosed with in, in fact, there are many people struggling with mental illnesses and disorders that are undiagnosed. Maybe in the future you could see a professional about it, or you could try to cope with it on your own based on resources on 7 Cups and other places around the internet. I hope you can overcome this, and I believe in you. You are a really strong person, who has had to deal with a lot, and that isn't fair at all. But we have to keep pushing through, and keep trying to improve and recover. Stay strong, lovely!!!
@husbandoeridan - It sounds like you've been struggling with a constant need to eat for a very long time. I'd like you to know first of all that your struggle is not stupid, and even though you haven't been diagnosed, your issues with binging are valid. A diagnosis is only a plan for how a doctor will treat you. You said it's partially because you need to feel something in your mouth, have you ever checked out chewable necklaces? They can be found on stimtastic, which is an online store. As for the other half of your issue, always feeling you need food; you should look into yourself and examine why you need it so much. Is it because you're feeling empty in other parts of your life, or do you feel anxious without food? What do you feel when you get the compulsion to eat? I wish you the best of luck with your eating, and I do hope you get the opportunity to get help from an eating disorder specialist in the future.
