Any one has exercise addiction?
I feel like my life is totally controlled by my workout schedule. But not doing planned exercise is making me so anxious. I'm in ED recovery and I eat a lot. If I do not exercise, I tend to start restricting again. Any advice?

hello :) i'm in remission from an eating disorder (atypical anorexia), which means that symptoms are no more present.
just remember that recovery is about challenges. you can't recover on an easy way, that doesn't exist.
it's was freaking hard for me to for example eat some donut and not to purge it on any way. i exercised like crazy.
the secret is in small steps. it will be freaking uncomfortable, very very uncofmortable, but for example (based on my experience) i took two laxatives less than i did when i wasn't in recovery. so, i still did it, i purged, but i made some progress. it's scary, scary af, but i realized that it's all about challenges and it's not easy at all.
plus, don't let the instagram ed recovery community to make you think that it's all about tons of smilies, positivity and s**t like that, because IT'S NOT. it's hard.
so i can recommend you the same thing as i did for laxatives: if you for example work out 2h a day, you can TRY YOUR HARDEST to workout 1h 50min a day. you think that's not recovery ? well no, it actually is. that is challenging, but remember that you can't do it suddenly, you can't just suppress your urges to use behaviors and that's the point, that's why taking small steps are actually big steps because you're slowly getting used to something that's more normal.
hope i helped, update us on here :)
