Bulimia-What are your Triggers?

I am asking this question to you so you can think about what your triggers are, and maybe once you're more aware of your triggers you can make a plan to prevent the said triggers from effecting you, or learning how to avoid your triggers.

So what are your triggers?

For me, triggers can be indirect or direct.

I'm in recovery at the moment and learning to use other (more healthy) ways to cope like writing than to try vomit, but if I'm in a low mood and someone comments on my weight or apperance, that really triggers it directly.

But I also find that indirect stressors can too. For example I'm in the middle of exams in college, and when they feel abit overwhelming all I can think about is this and that going to the bathroom would some how make it better.

I know for me, sometimes the smell of vomit, or mint can be triggering? Just because it brings up the memory. Mostly for me its a mind set if that makes sense(?) Like if I am in a certain mood it can be triggering..

@Chasingbutterflies

For me expressing my feelings is key. Bottling them up leads to relapse, but when I express my emotions (In any form) I do okay.

@rationalAvocado8133 Thank you for sharing, have you developed any tools to help your anxiety be more manageable, in these particular stressful loud situations?
