I'd like to say I was bulimic
I put it in my past like it isn't apart of my life anymore. My parents and former doctors/therapists all think I've recovered. Not that I see anyone anymore, I just think where I last left off with everyone we all said I was on a good track.I like to think so too. But honestly I still purge. I have a problem I am yet to solve where I get nauseous very often and sometimes I try and help myself out by throwing up. I throw up to calm down, and to control myself, and to feel better. But I still consider myself recovered because it isn't nearly as often or out of my control. But I am tired of still feeling the need to do so, the big difference isit really has nothing to do withfood anymore though. Although I have other issues with food, in this case it is about how I'm feeling. It happens when I'm anxious, when I'm upset, when I'm overwhelmed or sometimes littlethings just trigger me. I just feel like I'll never be able to fully kick the habit. Even if it will settle down at times it's hard to think it'll ever not be apart of me.
Hi Catherine, great honest post. It's hard to talk about these things sometimes, for me anyways. I too suffer from Bulimia. It is very hard for me to control, too. I feel like it has become an addiction, like a drug addiction - I'm hooked, and there are withdrawls when I try to stop. I feel grief when I try to let it go. It seems now that I do not have an answer for you as to how to stop, because I still have not been able to let it go. I still have hope though, and I continue to try. I still take responsibility for my actions. Maybe, just connecting with you this way helps... maybe feel less isolated... I hope this is the case and I have not bummed you out. I'm with ya on this trek for sure. Peace.
