Hey Artemis,

Taking the first step is huge, your self image is triggering you to purge.. that can be a stresser. Distraction and focussing on something that requires your attention and focus, can take you away from the urge to purge. Music and an interesting book sometimes helps..

I know it can be hard..

take care!

Also, sweetie, if you're anything like me, after you purge, you're all puffy and your hand(s) are red...constant reminders of the deed you've done. I agree...figure out what the trigger is that's drawing you to purge in the first place. I confess that I find comfort in the sensations after the purge. I only eat foods that I'd eat regularly (I follow a Ketogenic diet), just have a bit more then rid myself of them (one week no B/P tho!...small success!) The purge never makes me feel attractive in the least bit....save a slightly flatter stomach but never in my life has anyone ever complimented me on that so that I was like, AHA!...purge did the trick. Never. What DOES make you feel attractive? Do THAT thing. I feel good when my skin is looking good and my makeup is tidy and hair, perhaps. Find something to distract from the purge being an option and go toward that direction and be proud of your hot-looking self. smiley
