"safe" foods
Hey guys!
Foods that we deem as "safe", or less likely to make us bloat/gain weight/etc, play a huge role when it comes to what a person with an eating disorder will eat or try not to eat. I was wondering what you guys allow yourself to eat when/if restricting or even when youre eating healthier and how you react when you are in a situation where you have to eat something that you know will trigger a binge.
@Gthug
Its a good question about how to handle trigger foods. Without talking about specific foods, perhaps you can share how you handle it yourself? Maybe others can relate to that part.
apples and in general fresh fruits... thats all
my safe food would be carrots, oats, pineapples,raisins and cornflakes
Right now mine are just Boca Burgers (original flavor) and baby carrots, trying to have more variety but it's hard
most of raw vegetables, celery, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, ...
I've been living off of sugar free pudding (in the mix boxes, obviously I make it up with skim milk) and protein bars because I haven't even the energy to cook. I'm just too sad and terrified that if I venture too deep into the kitchen that I'm setting myself up for failure.
Mine are usually just green things like lettuce and cucumber. anything too unnatural and I either binge or it triggers something
Trigger warning?
In general, i dont have any safe foods because if i feel full, i purge :(
But foods that i usually feel safe on is fruit and veg, green tea, sugar free juice
