Binge eating
Hi!
Recently I have been bothered by my continuous junk food eating. Everyday I get huge craving for chips and I somehow can't stop eating chips. I'm giving up to the craving very easily. This problem is eating me alive, mentally and physically. I hate myself for it. I have tried to stop it, but quickly find myself in the same pattern where I was before. Anyone got a good idea of how to ease the craving, so I could ignore the craving? :)
Perhaps you can alternate with something more healthy. Try to eat to satiation when you have cravings. Have a protein-heavy, no sugar/carbohydrate meal ( especially in the morning, relatively soon on waking [ it's good to know if you're anxious ]. It's necessary because you fasted all night and if you load yourself cognitively or physiologically in the morning, your brain stressed will encourage your body to produce insulin, it will take all your blood sugar out of your blood, and then you're done for the day. And then you'll be anxious. So if you are anxious try this experiment: the next time you're anxious, go eat something, some protein, and fat would be best. Something substantial, solid. And then wait ten minutes and see if you are less anxious. Try that for two weeks. every time you're anxious eat something. ), and see if you feel better. You binge eating, in part, because it makes you feel good. You have carbohydrate cravings, so perhaps you can try to substitute it with a solid, healthy meal instead. And only you know if your readiness to jump at anything temporary gratifying is just but a symptom, so to speak, of something more ephemeral of your current environment, such as a lack of a meaningful and engaging pursuit. That's for you to identify what's there at the bottom of it, for in its realization lies the success of putting together an adequate solution tailed to your particular case.
