ED intake, what to expect?

My therapist at the university I go to just made me sign up with an ED specialist and nutritionist so I have a "primary care eating disorder clinic intake appointment" in a couple weeks. I hadn't really considered the possibility that I had an eating disorder until recently, I have no idea what to expect, and I'm already kinda wary of doctors so I'm all around pretty terrified. If anyone can give me a run down of how their first time getting seen was or what I can expect, particularly in a college setting, I'd be really grateful.

@KSicily Hey There! Welcome to the ED Sub-Community, it's great to see you around here!heart This is a great question - and it can be normal to have questions around this subject, when you are uncertain and worried about the process. I think the first appointment, usually varies depending on your situation and the city you are in! Intake appointments, are usually an introductionary appointment, where the professional will get to know you, and your needs! They may take a few different assessments to take into account when you are thinking about a treatment plan - but this will very much vary dependant on what the process is in your area, and what you, as an individual, need. You said you spoke to your therapist at your university - how did you find that? Did they give you any information about the appointment, that could maybe make you feel a little more at ease? I am super proud of you for seeking help on this, it can be a very nerve-wracking experience, and I fully believe that with support - you've got this!laughheart
