Finally..
Yesterday, I finally told my best friend that I've been struggling with an eating disorder for 4 years now.. I know I'm supposed to feel better, buy I don't.. for the past few days, I've had to force myself to eat and I end up feeling horrible.. and to add the cherry on the top, my depression has gotten worse since Thursday... I just want to barricade myself in my room and cry..
@AnimeLover2017 To have told you friend after such a long time battling with an eating disorder must have felt a huge thing for you to do, and a very courageous move on your part. I hear you say you dont feel any better and have spent since Thursday feeling pretty upset etc. Was your friend supportive towards you when you chose to share with them about your struggles? Is there anything that concerns you having told your friend? Are you perhaps feeling vulnerable since sharing this? I know it may not feel all too good right now but hopefully knowing that you now know someone else knows, someone you have trusted enough to share this with could eventually, make you feel less alone with all this. I think what you did was a huge thing to have done and I commend you on having the courage to share with another person.
@dancingRainbow45 she's super supportive. An ive talked to her about my concerns. She knows I'm so scared right now.. she knows I want to get better but it's so hard..
@AnimeLover2017 I am really pleased to hear your friend is super supportive. Its so good to know you have someone like that in your life :) Sometimes just knowing someone is there is enough without them needing to do or say anything. Recovering from an eating disorder I can appreciate is a long hard fought battle sometimes and sadly the hard work has to come from those living with this illness day in and day out. It is not as simple as just eating healthily as some people may imagine. And even when you make determined efforts to help yourself, the eating disorder goblin as I like to call it, tends to get in the way.. If people are determined to try and make changes however hard they may be, eventually you will get there. There may be little steps forward, and steps backwards at times, but with courage you can get there.
