I just want to be happy
I have been struggling with an eating disorder for around 5 years but just recently figured out that's what it is. I have tried to do awater fast [edited by Shanna for triggering details] multiple times but always end up eating at the end of the day. I tried exercising but I always lose motivation. I went vegetarian during the pandemic and I still haven't seen changes at all. I limit my calories to [edited by Shanna for calorie count] but I only eat dinner. I just keep gaining weight and I feel so dumb because I feel like I should be with all the limitations I do and for how long I've been doing it but I'm just a failure.
@Pinkfroggie that sounds awfully unhealthy. not eating for 25 days would end up in your death:( there's no reason to lose weight if you aren't overweight, but if you do want to lose weight, make sure it's to a healthy weight, and you're eating at least 1,200 calories a day, okay? that's how much calories you need for your body to keep going. you aren't a failure! it's completely natural to get hungry and give into your urges. when you aren't eating for a long time, your body gets super hungry and goes full binge mode and pretty much tries to eat everything in sight, it's a survival instinct. just make sure you're eating at least 3 meals a day, drinking plenty of water, and having at least 1,200 calories a day. or even better, don't count calories, just make sure you aren't hungry! it's okay to overeat or mess up on a diet, it's completely natural. stay safe <3
@spoiledm1lk and also, about exercise, i completely understand that; it can be extremely hard to get the motivation to exercise. it might be a good idea to implement exercise into your daily routine, like a 10am morning walk around your neighborhood on Mondays-Fridays, for example :)
@Pinkfroggie Don't we all
I would recommend getting a good therapist :)
