I think I may have disordered eating
Ever since I started dieting and working out in 2017, I felt strong and healthy. But two years forward, I found myself being restrictive towards what I would eat. I lost more weight with my steamed chicken and vege diet and was happy to see the numbers on the scale go down. Now however, I have developed a sugar addiction. I can’t say no to the snacks in my pantry. I would visit the kitchen on impulse and binge on whatever’s sugary. I’m disgusted by my weight gain. I can’t afford therapy. I don’t know what to do.
@rednose2902 One kind of good advice would be to not have sugar in the house dear
And begin eating more varied. Living of off a boring diet will make you want to binge on anything "different"
I absolutely do not want sugar in the house but my mom wouldnt stop buying them. When I do tell my mom not to buy them however, all she says is “if you dont want them, dont eat them”. Yea like that’s going to help... Thank you for your advice though. I just told my mom to bring me grocery shopping next time so I could buy some healthy food for myself. Hopefully I’ll be able to trick myself into being healthier that way.
@rednose2902 Oh, I see. Then it's hard. Maybe try, if she is trustworthy that is, to open up to your mom? To tell her you can't control yourself around sugar? I did that to my mom after I had moved out, and now she is much more forgiving when something "disappears" from the pantry.
All I'm saying is, that maybe it can help? Maybe she will stop buying it?
