I think I’m getting there

Hey, everyone. So, I recently went to the doctor and I found out I am about twenty pounds overweight with high cholesterol and am prediabetic. So, in trying to rectify that, I have become incredibly meticulous at what I eat, which I know is pretty normal, hut here’s the thing: any sort of indulgence or food I used to eat, even in moderation, makes me feel extreme guilt and fear, guilt of eating and fear that it’s going to make the difference between me being healthy and me having diabetes. I’m working on fixing this as this is a new path for me, but I am worried that behavior like this is possibly ED. Could someone maybe help clarify for me?

@tallPond9195 I'm so sorry you feel that way. That's why I'm scared of going to the doctor :(

It sounds like you are struggling with food behaviors that you are concerned are becoming controlling or harmful. Guilt and shame are very uncomfortable, so it makes sense that you are concerned. I don't want to give you advice or diagnose you as no two people's experience are the same, even in something like an eating disorder that is supposedly "defined" by the DSM. That being said, I have experienced disordered eating and understand how distressing it is. Have you considered how this behavior is affecting you vs how you would like your relationship with food to be?
