My friend said something that stuck to me
like the title states my friend and I were talking yesterday and the topic of food came up, because my step dad made one of my favorite side dish. I said to him I could easily just eat those for dinner and be happy. He told me that my brother, mom, & stepdad need sustenance, so I had said "what about me?" I was just trying to mess around because it was a light conversation at this point and he replied that I starve myself anyways so it's not like I really care about sustenance. (I eat everyday just usually one meal) This guy is one of my best friends and for as long as he has known me over about 4 years now. Last year I had been doodling in my sketchbook and left it out when I went to used the bathroom and he flipped through it and found a few drawings I had done about my less than optimal self image thoughts. And he doesn't really see me eat lunch very often so I guess that's where it came from. I don't even have an eating disorder I am just someone with self image issues around weight and I am more of a restrictive person regarding food. But even so I eat everyday so that isn't how it works (to my knowledge). I don't know really. I haven't really lost weight or anything either though so its nothing crazy. I just cant shake the fact of my friend saying that. I don't understand why he always tells me to eat more or the way he told me i starve myself. I just can't understand it. Sorry if this is illogical I have been all over the place recently, I am trying to get myself together

You don't need to apologize!
You're feelings are not illogical.
They are totally valid!
I'm sorry you are having some images around how you see yourself!
I think your friend just said some throwaway comments that he probably never even considered before speaking.
I wouldn't let it fester!
It might help to figure out why it bothered you as much as it did.
Wishing you all the best!

Im so sorry to hear about this situation, it must’ve been very hard to hear your friend say that. Your feelings about the situation are valid and maybe he just spoke without really thinking about the consequences of his words. Your feelings are anything but illogical, and im also very sorry to hear that you have some issues with your self image. You are doing the best you can so please give yourself some grace!! ❤️
Hi! I hope that situation with your friend don't bother you anymore.
And I am here just to say thats everything is okay with you. You thoughts and story not illogical, your emotions are valid.
I guess I had a bit the same conversation with my friends not too long ago. My friends are always bring to college lunch like REAL lunch, as far as I know they collaborate with each other to cook meals at home and bring them to college. And they always saying to me that I am starving or I'm ruining my stomach just because I don't wanna eat anything at lunch or eat less then they (like one crispy bar) and every time then I agree to try their home made foods they behave around me as I am a monkey in a zoo or little child and they (CONGRATULATIONS) were able to feed me .
And I reflected a lot about this situation and realized that may be it's hard for some people to understand difference between people. I guess it's really hard to all of us realize that we feel our bodies differently.. In Russian we have a good Proverb - Another person's soul is darkness, that means - It is impossible to fully understand another person, to know what he really thinks and feels, even if he seems close to you...
I hope I catch meaning of your story correctly and not misunderstood anything.
Take care :)
