So I am overweight I was 14 when I started my first diet it was a weight loss shake diet again I lost weight while I was in diet it was super restrictive I gained all back when I left it I was binging and emotional eating at this point .... There was a point in my life where I literally starved myself and worked out more and recently I have been diagnosed with pcod and the doctor literally fat shamed me and said me to lose weight without knowing my background history ....

@Meridith06 Hello there! I am so sorry to hear about your doctor's attitude, I really hope you consider changing doctors after that.

That is the thing about diet culture, it is not designed to help you in long run, it is designed to lose weight on that one diet, then you gain it all back and come back later to try another new diet they have. It's a cycle they create so they have constant consumers of their new products, plans, workout routines etc.

I can definitely understand how going from an extremely restrictive diet to binging and emotional eating can go and it's very common as well. When we restrict ourselves for a long time, our bodies try to overcompensate by craving it all even more and doesn't want to stop because we didn't allow it for a long time.

@Meridith06 Yay! That is really awesome and amazing progress! Intuitive eating is great and can take a while to really get the hang of it. We are rooting for you!
