About four years ago I began wanting to lose weight and wasn't sure why. For the first few years when I was about 12-15, I went through different phases of eating; one month I would eat normally but feel extremely guilty about it, and the next month I would eat virtually nothing and exercise a lot. It repeated in this cycle for ages and no weight loss or gain was noticeable because as soon as I lost the weight- I gained it straight back. I was never sure if this was an eating disorder or not but it got progressively worse to where I am today at 16. I began to eat very little in an attempt to lose weight and it has been getting worse as I have many exams coming up and a lot of school stress/anxiety. Although I recognise it is unhealthy-I can't overcome how I feel about myself. However every month or so, I will have a week where, like in previous years, I would eat normally but feel very guilty and exercise a lot after, then almost starve for the other three weeks-only slowly losing weight. I've never told anyone as I didn't feel it was necessary because there are some times when I do eat!

You seem to be experiencing EDNOS - now I can't diagnose you for sure, but it's worth talking to a doctor about. These eating habits and mindsets are not healthy and can drastically worsen over time. You can visit this article to find out more information about EDNOS. Don't keep it to yourself. It's important to get support and seek help. You are worth more than this, food is not the enemy and you are not going to be controlled by it.
