hi so for the last year or so i’ve been struggling to have a healthy relationship with food. i’ve never completely stopped eating but for about a week every month i randomly eat less than 1000 calories a day. i’m in this right now and i’m just so tired of it. i want to eat whatever i want but i don’t want to gain weight. i know that i’m a healthy weight and even if i gained some weight i would still be fine but i want to be skinnier because i want people to point it out because it makes me feel more confident.and i knwo that not eating is the fastest way to get there and i really really want to get there but i know it’s bad for me and i black out every time i stand up but i can’t stop. it’s only been a few days and i already fear that i’m in too deep and it may take much longer than a week to go back to normal. even when u go back to normal i will probably return soon enough. please help i just want to eat.

Hello Olivia,
As hard and difficult as eating disorders are, they may be a symptom of something more. For what you tell us, its seems like you stop eating in order to get skinny, and you want to get skinnier in order to feel more confident.
What would happen if you found other ways to feel confident? Lets imagine we jump to the future, and there you find your future self. Time ago she found other ways to feel confident, and she is a super confident person. She talk with strangers in a cool and calm way, she did so many tings that make her nervous years ago. She archived so many goals and now feels really calm and in control. How do you imagine her? What kind of relation does she have with food? What ways did she found to feel confident?
You are not alone, many girls try to be skinny, many men try to buld muscle. We all want to be accepted, respected and loved. We may be starting with ourselves. Professional help could help.
I hope you find your way into the kind of live you want to have. Hugs. =)
