Help identifying if this is an ED?
First off, hihi! I’m Dahlia, dah for short! @( ◕ x ◕ )@
I was wondering if this is an ED or if it’s linked to something else? I’ll start listing my symptoms!
1. I physically can’t eat even if im hungry! It’s super frustrating because sometimes my body physically rejects food. I could be hungry and be in the middle of eating something, and I’ll randomly get nauseous/start gagging even if my body is physically hungry. Or, I could be super hungry and I don’t get the chance to eat at all, because I get that nauseous-gag feeling.
2. I worry about my body image a lot, carried from when I was very very young.
3. I in general forget to eat sometimes? Most days/everyday I eat super late because I physically forget to eat, or I’ll know when I get hungry and I accidentally ignore it/forget about it. It leaves me feeling not so good (。╯︵╰。), I tend to get shakey and dizzy
if anyone could help me identify this, that would be great! Thank you! (*´▽`*)

It would be remiss of anyone who is not a professional to diagnose this.
But I'm glad you came here.
It's brave of you to open up.
I'm sorry to hear thst you've struggled with self esteem and body image.
There can be so much pressure on girls to be perfect but please know, you are enough 🩷

@Flutterdah hi you have a very pretty name💖 it sounds like a ed🙁 but remember ed's can be the cause of many other things like self esteem/ stress/body image/ all kinds of things. I think maybe it would be best to talk to a doctor about it. Gives you a giant tiny hug 💗 I hope you can get this sorted out soon 💖
@Flutterdah
Hi Dahlia, nice to meet you! Thank you for sharing all of this so openly. It sounds like you’ve been dealing with a really confusing mix of physical and emotional symptoms, and that can feel so overwhelming to sort through on your own.
The way you describe being hungry but suddenly getting nauseous or gagging sounds really frustrating. Wanting to eat but feeling like your body is rejecting food is such a distressing experience. Body image may have added more pressure and complication to your relationship with food. Sometimes the body and mind get tangled together in ways that make hunger cues, appetite, and stress responses feel unpredictable.
Life gets busy, and it’s completely understandable that eating can slip your mind at times. I’m wondering if it might help to keep a few light, easy‑to‑reach snacks around, or to gently build small snack moments into your routine so they become a natural part of your day. Having something simple and accessible might make it a little easier to stay nourished and feel more steady.
And at the same time, I know it’s not always as easy as it sounds. When there’s a mental or emotional layer involved, even something “simple” like regular snacks can feel complicated. I’ve personally gone through periods of swinging between undereating and overeating, and maintaining a balanced rhythm was incredibly hard, even when I knew what would help. So if this feels tricky for you too, that makes complete sense.
