I’m not even sure if I have a ED or just a weird relationship with food, for the past I would say 4 years I’ve been struggling with body issues. It started when I became friends with this girl who didn’t eat and talked about her weight all the time and I started to do it too I wouldn’t eat breakfast or lunch at school but I would go home and binge. That happened for at least a year. Then the next year I guess it got worse I started to not binge and not eat and it got to a point for a short amount of time I made myself throw up or tried to atleast, I’m pretty sure it only worked like once or twice. I only got in that routine for a couple weeks. I went through a year in my first year of middle school wear I wore on old really tight sports bra around my waist as some sort of make shift waist trainer. Then I went back to binging in the afternoon it’s just been back and forth It’s not that I’m skinny either which makes me mad because I’m fat I’m 5’2 and 134 pounds. My friends sometimes mention there weight like “90 pound or 113 ” and it just make me feel wrong. But does it really count as an eating disorder if I’m not I guess fat but I’m not skinny either?

Hey :)

I'm in no way licensed I'm any way but as for someone who has been struggling with a very similar thing, I think it's valid enough to assume that you have an eating disorder. The food obsession, the body checking/ body dismorphia and trying to change your body and the binge- starve- (sometimes purge)-cycle is in no way a healthy relationship with food (obviously), so I'd say it's disordered eating.

Don't let anyone tell you that your problems aren't valid because you don't check off some kind of indicators or whatever. You're struggle is valid.

Hope that made sense :]
