Struggling with diet

I have a past of anorexia and I also had a part of my life I did complete opposite I binge ate now I’m struggling to only eat on the carnivore diet and stick to it sugar is so addictive

@warmheartedIdea6943 I struggle with bingeing, and I used to fast so long that i was almost starving myself. i can speak from both spectrums as well. For me...Not saying it will work for you, BUT i have found that i drink a ton of water with sugar Gatorade packets or whatever you like, and i drink 0 sugar sodas. The brain is so unique. I have found that if i trick my brain into thinking im drinking or eating sweets, it helps to curb. Just some thoughts. I hope that helps a little.

I have similar, 10+years mixed bulimia/anorexia, i don't care anymore about my look, i'm extremely underweight now and i need to gain weight, i don't mind getting biger, i even think that a bit chubby girls look more cute, but at the same time i'm scared of raising numbers on the scale

Carnivore diet is quite hard to digest, how do you manage to not feel uncomfortable on stomach after meals? In my case from proteins my stomach can manage only yogurts, cottage cheese and chicken

I wish you well with it, it's not easy to struggle with food issues and keep on top of it. I felt like the more I restricted what I couldn't eat, the more I craved it.

The only thing I've been able to keep going with is being half healthy, half unhealthy. I have a big sweet tooth so I really enjoy the low calorie cereal bars with oats and nuts, sometimes chocolate and I try to drink a lot of water because sometimes it's not hunger but thirst.

It's finding the right balance for you so eventually, it's not difficult, but a natural routine :)

@enthusiasticLime4501 That's really kind and inventive to adapt a recipe like that. I appreciate it but I'm not a cheesecake fan.

Crunchy oats and yoghurt hits the spot when I'm peckish :)

After stoping making yourself restrictions after some time you stoped to crave and binge on that specific products?

@enthusiasticLime4501 I started questioning my intake and food habits, when people constantly told me I was overweight and shouldn't eat so much, before that I didn't notice or care.

It took me a long time to figure out what I could live without, what I could change to a healthier version, what was best for me.

So for example, I used to drink coffee with lots of sugar and milk and dunk biscuits, that was far too much calories, so switched to fizzy drinks, then fizzy sparkling water, then plain water.

And yes because I've been doing it for so long, I don't miss it, I'm not tempted, sometimes for a treat I'll have lemonade or fruit juice.

But it was about what I could do for myself to have an overall healthier lifestyle :)

So now you don't allow yourself at all any cookies or other unhealthy sweets?

@enthusiasticLime4501 I completely do, I still eat chocolate or biscuits or cakes but because I am not over eating, I still lose weight.

When I thought I had to give up sugar or carbs and stopped eating them, I missed it too much and went back to it.

It's about a good balance. I don't drink alcohol, I don't like red meat, except beef. I like meat free dishes sometimes.

Good and bad things in my meals but it works for me because I spent years and years developing it. It helps that I mainly drink water because I actually like it plain.

I'm not punishing myself, just finding some things are good for me, some aren't but I don't feel guilty, I enjoy it all :)

That sounds healthy, i'm happy for you:) after many years of dieting i have tons of advices for loosing weight but now i have to put on weight

@enthusiasticLime4501 so maybe you'll do the opposite of me, maybe frequent small meals or at least 3x a day, for me it's only 2, with snacks in-between.

People will find you a good source of advice or maybe you can blog/vlog. write a book :)

However it happens, you'll get there.

Problem is when i start to eat i can't stop till i'm too full and comes bulimia

@enthusiasticLime4501 You might find it easier to do meal preparations so it's planned out in sorta measured doses and afterwards practice saying something like..

I really enjoyed that and I'm completely full and now I'm going to focus on something else, until my next meal.

I re-wire my brain constantly to tell it what I need to hear, instead of what isn't helpful to me and some people find writing a food diary beneficial, I didn't really like that..

@enthusiasticLime4501 I'm not an expert, was just trying to suggest useful ideas that are practical for you. I'm glad if you got something out of it :)

I love sweets too, sometimes helping me simply drinking water with a bit of milk and a teaspoon/spoon of dark cacao and some sweetener
