the worst thing
i feel like the worst thing about bulimia is the volatility of it all.
not just the number on the scale, but the constant mindset, plan, attitude, emotion. it’s a godd*mned rollercoaster.
i know that’s how a binge-restrict cycle works, but it just makes my head spin. i hate it. just when i think i can come out of it, i set myself back again.
its comical, almost. imagine developing an eating disorder to gain a sense of control, then losing all the power you thought you had.
@fnq29 I hear you, and I'm truly sorry to hear that you're going through such a difficult experience with bulimia. The emotional and mental toll it takes can indeed feel like an unending rollercoaster.
You are right, eating disorders often start as a way to gain a sense of control but end up taking control over every aspect of life. The good news is that you're aware of the cycle, and that self-awareness is a crucial step towards recovery.
Recovery is a journey, and setbacks can happen. Please consider reaching out to a mental health professional or a support group specializing in eating disorders. They can provide guidance, tools, and understanding as you work towards regaining control over your life in a healthier way. You're stronger than you might realize, and I believe in your ability to overcome this. Take care of yourself 🫶
